Engineering, Procurement and Construction

Oil and Gas Engineering

We engage in EPC turnkey project for our clients. This includes detailed engineering design, procurement and construction/installation of oil and gas infrastructures.

        Project Management

The project management team is made up of an experienced and dedicated workforce responsible for the HSE quality management system of our projects. The team follows a well laid-out process for project control and transmitting system that enables detailed documentation to be sent for review to client and final approval before IFC (Issue for Construction), thereby meeting all design and analytical standards with safety, health and environmental procedures unabridged. The team develops a detailed project schedule and utilizes the project progress reporting system to monitor project delivery dates to the satisfaction of our clients.

        Design

CDR Infrastructure provides preliminary and detailed engineering design services utilizing the latest design software and structural stress analysis. The design system takes full advantages of design codes (ASME, ANSI VII, APS and more), along with design packages like Solid Works, AutoCAD, PDMS, SACS, HYSYS, PIPE PHASE, ETAP, CAESER, AUTOPIPE etc, for its engineering and analytical design deliverables.

Civil and Infrastructural Engineering

Structural Engineering

CDR Infrastructure and its specialized partners have got expertise in infrastructure design and construction. Our capability includes design and supervision buildings & warehouses, construction of jetties, bridges, sheet piled walls, retaining & buried structures and highways.

Some of the activities involved in our infrastructural engineering works are given below:

  • Prefeasibility and Feasibility Study
  • Site topographic and geotechnical surveys
  • GIS and AutoCAD Services
  • Preliminary and detailed design
  • Construction Supervision
  • Project Management

Flood protection and Integrated Water Resources Management

In our approach we aim at both hard and soft engineering solutions.
Combining a thorough understanding of the actual situation, based on know-how and experience, we will only use the numerical models as a tool to analyze in more detail the cause of any flooding problems or risks and define alternative solutions.
Quantification of the flood risk is done by state-of-the-art numerical models which are powerful tools. We combine the traditional knowledge with new and innovative solutions. Upon identification of the technical solution we manage the individual project. Our involvement depends on the preference of the client as the projects may be carried out as design & construct by contractors. We often assist contractors in the tender phase to prepare a winning bid and to finalize the detailed designs.
For the detailed designs, we often use 3D drawings or DTMs (Digital Terrain Models), so designs can go as direct input for construction equipment with DGPS systems. This in particular is interesting for projects with large scale earth works and construction below water level.

       Services

CDR Infrastructure provides the following services in the field of Flood Protection and IWRM:

       Numerical Modelling and Statistical Analysis
Depending on the area and typical situation, we can offer the following modelling studies, using well known software of MIKE or DELFT / SOBEK suite. Other options like HEC-RAS or other open source programmes will be considered depending on the client’s requirements:

  • 1D model studies for polder and drainage, including rainfall-runoff modelling
  • 2D model studies for rivers, including floodplains, lagoons and estuaries
  • Statistical analysis of measured data and defining of extreme design conditions
  • Flood risk mapping (GIS or as part of the hydraulic model, to define the areas vulnerable for flooding in relation to the extreme conditions)
  • Inundation modelling (identifying the impacts of dike or dam breaches)

We can prepare the preliminary design and detailed design including geotechnical and structural analysis and the tender documents.

          Feasibility Studies and Conceptual Design
Feasibility of solutions will be based on:

  • Technical options
  • Environmental and social impacts
  • Costs and operation& maintenance

Flood / Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)

As the river basins are often densely populated or used for agricultural purposes, nowadays more often attention is given to flood risk assessment and flood risk reduction.
An integrated approach is recommended to achieve sustainable development of the basin, while maximizing the net benefit from the floodplains or the river basin. Important part of this approach is effective operating of the flood control structures in the system, reliable forecasting of floods and early warning measures.

Geosynthetic Engineering

Geosynthetic systems allow the construction of financially attractive, innovative and sustainable solutions.

Advantages of geosynthetic systems are flexibility in design, cost-effectiveness and speed of installation.  In many areas, there is not enough rock nearby to allow structures built of rock. Using this technology sand and soil from the immediate area result in stable structures.  This can significantly save the costs compared to trucking in materials.

The general shortage of land and basic construction materials (such as gravel) increases the need to construct on difficult terrain (soft soils) with only locally available materials. Therefore, the challenge for the construction industry to create good bearing soils for development and to protect readily available terrains steadily increases.

CDR Infrastructure provides services including geosynthetics designs, feasibility studies, construction drawings and on-site support.

         Approach

In our approach we compare the geosynthetic solutions with traditional solutions.  Once the site is identified, after a site investigation, we can prepare alternative conceptual solutions, including the geosynthetic alternatives.

Next, the feasibility of the geosynthetic solution is compared with traditional solutions and methods like deep soil mixing (mixed-in-place) and stone or sand columns. Often, the geosynthetic solutions require less space and are financially attractive over traditional solution. We emphasize that designs are based on (inter)national standards, taking the clients wishes, design criteria and local soil and hydraulic parameters into account.

After the design phase, construction and operation criteria are combined with inspection and site supervision. Different geosynthetic solutions from different providers are compared in order to obtain the best solution for the project.

         Services

CDR Infrastructure provides preliminary and detailed geosynthetics engineering designs which meet up to (inter)national standards. Both preliminary and detailed geosynthetics engineering designs can be performed based on (inter)national standards, taking into account design criteria and local soil and hydraulic parameters.

These services include geosynthetics designs, feasibility studies, construction drawings and on-site support in the following fields:
