In particular, it is our policy to ensure the HSE integrity of our processes and facilities at all times and at all places. We accomplish this by adhering to the following principles:
Risk Reduction, Prevention and Resource Management
We seek opportunities beyond compliance requirements, for the prevention of work related injury and ill health, reducing risk to human health and the environment by effective control on pollution, waste and emission, and we establish and meet our own HSE standards where appropriate.
We employ management systems and procedures specifically designed to prevent activities and/or conditions that pose a threat to human health, safety, or the environment.
We look for ways to minimize risk and protect our employees and the communities in which we operate by employing clean technology, including safe technologies and operating procedures, as well as being prepared for emergencies. We strive to minimize releases to the air, land, or water through use of cleaner technologies and the safer use of chemicals. We minimize the amount and toxicity of waste generated and ensure the safe treatment and disposal of waste.
Communication
We make available, and communicate this policy and our HSE commitment to our employees, vendors, communities, customers and the public. Where applicable, we solicit their input in meeting our HSE goals and in turn offer assistance to meet their goals.
Compliance
We comply with applicable HSE statutory, regulatory and legal requirements and implement programs and procedures to assure compliance. Compliance with HSE standards is a key ingredient in training and performance reviews.
Continuous Improvement
We measure our progress as best as we can. We review our HSE performance at least annually. We also continually seek opportunities to review and improve our adherence to these principles, and periodically report progress to our stakeholders.
We manage scarce resources, such as water, energy and land in an environmentally sensitive manner. The policy provides the framework for setting and reviewing our HS&E objectives and targets for the organization
